Papa John’s International, Inc. is a U.S. based pizza company founded by John Schnatter(CEO) in 1984 after John tore down the broom closet in the back of his father’s tavern and began selling pizzas. Papa John’s, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, opened its first restaurant in 1985 and has been listed on Nasdaq since 1993. The company received the highest ranking among all U.S. fast food restaurants in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) in the five most recent surveys (1999-2004). In 2002’s ACSI survey, Papa John’s ranked higher than the group average of all fast food restaurants and ranked 7 percentage points higher than Pizza Hut. Additionally, Papa John’ has ranked first place in overall quality for seven consecutive years (1997 – 2003) in the Choice in Chains consumer survey, a survey conducted by Restaurants and Institutions Magazine on the pizza category in the U.S.. |
